Microtonal Polyphony

For the past few years, I have been researching ways to use 15th and16th century counterpoint rules to create polyphony in microtonal systems (In other words, writing Renaissance choir music with notes that don't exist on the piano). My biggest dive has been into the Franco-Flemish tradition, particular into the music of Dufay, Ockeghem, and Josquin. My undergraduate thesis (awarded honors by Columbia University and advised by Georg Friedrich Haas) focused on developing ways to recompose Josquin's works in microtonal systems. Click here to read my thesis (the scores are interactive). The quarter tone canons on page 40 is where the fun begins. :)
